Job description: We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled z/OS PeopleSoft Database Administrator (DBA) with deep expertise in DB2 on z/OS to manage, support, and optimize PeopleSoft database environments.Duration: 3+ Months
Location: Remote.Key Responsibilities:Administer, maintain, and support PeopleSoft databases on IBM DB2 for z/OS platforms.Perform DB2 database performance tuning, SQL query optimization, and overall system design improvement.Utilize DB2 z/OS utilities for backup, recovery, reorganization, and other core DBA functions.Provide deep technical support for PeopleSoft application upgrades, patching, and deployments.Lead or support the migration of PeopleSoft environments from DB2 z/OS to Oracle, ensuring data integrity, minimal downtime, and successful cutover.Collaborate with application developers, infrastructure teams, and PeopleSoft functional teams to ensure high availability and performance of enterprise applications.Provide architectural guidance and implement best practices for database security, scalability, and monitoring.Maintain documentation of all DBA procedures, configurations, and architecture diagrams.Troubleshoot complex performance issues and provide rapid resolution to minimize business impact.Support integration points, including MQ messaging, where applicable.Work within AIX environments as needed, particularly in support of migration and integration tasks.Required Qualifications:Experience as a DB2 DBA on z/OS platforms supporting enterprise applications.Experience specifically supporting PeopleSoft applications in a mainframe environment.Expertise in DB2 z/OS utilities, SQL tuning, and relational database design.Demonstrated experience in PeopleSoft database migrations from DB2 z/OS to Oracle.Strong understanding of database performance tuning, query optimization, and system-level architecture.Working knowledge of IBM MQ and AIX operating systems.Proficiency with data modeling tools such as IBM Data Architect, IBM DB2 Fundamentals, or Oracle SQL Data Modeler.Excellent communication and documentation skills.Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment.Thank You,
