Job description: Job Title: Workforce Forecasting Support OfficerSalary: The starting salary is £38,926, which includes allowances totalling £2,928.The salary is broken down as £35,998 basic salary, which will increase annually until you reach the top of the scale £38,523. Plus, a location allowance of £1,928 and a non-pensionable allowance of £1,000.Location: KilburnThis is an exciting opportunity to join the Workforce Planning and Deployment Team of the Metropolitan Police, working as part of the Corporate Workforce Planning & Insight team, supporting the delivery of forecasts & models for the resource plans up to 5 years, to effectively manage the in deployment of people, in line with corporate priorities, balancing the supply of workforce resources across the MPS, for all c.50, 000 people into 70+ business units and operational OCUs.Working for the Met doesn’t have to mean patrolling the streets. Just as important as our uniformed officers is our 14,000-strong team of professional and support staff working behind the scenes. It’s these skilled people who provide the organisational capability to police London.Duties and Responsibilities –Collaborates with business partners and Workforce Planning and Deployment team to translate metrics, KPIs, levers and assumptions into forecasts for resource plans up to 5 years.

  • Maintain the data catalogue/repository, map the data relationships and data artefacts that exist across the workforce systems.
  • Use data analytics to develop accurate metrics for modelling to reflect workforce changes and identify trends.
  • Assess forecasts, levers & metrics against performance to identify any emerging trends or changes.
  • Source data sets and information for basic queries submitted to the team, as directed.
  • Champion effective governance, compliance, and ways of working to support the flow of information to enable effective decision-making.
  • Ensures the data used in the forecasting process and tooling is robust, clean, and accurate.
  • Adheres & fosters the data quality frameworks through data quality standards, policies, and procedures.
