About the OpportunityWe currently have an exciting opportunity to join the Women’s and Babies Division as a Nurse/Midwife Unit Manager, where you will be responsible for:

• Using clinical knowledge and experience to coordinate patient/client care delivery within a Health Unit or Community Service.
• Managing, coordinating, and leading nursing/midwifery and multidisciplinary team activities to ensure continuity and quality of care and outcomes.
• Accepting accountability for nursing/midwifery practices and multidisciplinary outcomes in the specific practice setting.
• Addressing inconsistencies between practice and policy to align with best practices.
• Developing team performance and fostering a positive work culture to enhance patient/client outcomes.

About YouTo be successful in this role, you will have:

• Registered or eligible for registration as a Midwife or Nurse / Midwife by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practising certificate.
• Registered Midwife or Nurse/Midwife with at least 3 years post graduation experience or currently classified as a Clinical Midwife or Clinical Nurse/Midwife
• Demonstrated competence in the relevant area of nursing/midwifery practice in accordance with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) and relevant professional college standards of practice
• Effective leadership skills including highly developed skills in communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Ability to review and improve models of care to be person and family centred.
• Demonstrated ability to foster a workplace environment that develops staff potential
