Salary Range: $54,300 – $67,900 based on a 35-hour week
Location: Remote, Eastern Ontario
Closing Deadline: May 11, 2025 (11:59PM EDT)What You Will DoAs Wetland Conservation Specialist, you will primarily be responsible for the identification, development and delivery of wetland conservation projects.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Identification, prospecting and management of a variety of potential wetland and grassland conservation projects.
• Delivery of conservation projects on schedule and on budget.
• Participation in the securement of funding for conservation programs
• Steward relationships and work closely with private landowners, various conservation partners, and government organizations.
• Manage project data through various internal tracking systems.
• Assist with responding to public inquires and support other staff on the DUC team

You are a reliable team player with strong organizational, time management and interpersonal skills as well as excellent oral and written communication skills will make you a great asset to our team.Requirements

• University degree in environmental science; a MSc would be an asset
• Bilingualism (French and English) with ability to confidentially converse (verbal and written) is an asset
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience working in the environmental field
• Valid driver’s license
• Practical knowledge of aquatic ecosystems, Species at Risk and wildlife biology
• Knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite
• Basic GIS skills and knowledge of the ESRI suite of products and associated mobile data collection apps
• Knowledge of working farms and practices, annual crop and forage/grazing production systems.
• You are a “people person” who enjoys engaging with the public and working directly with local land stewards and cultivating solid relationships.
• A passion for conservation, the environment and the outdoors; experience in the non-profit and/or environmental conservation sectors would also be an asset.
