It provides industry leading wholesale market services to EDF’s supply and generation business units and to third party energy asset owners. The team operates in a broad and diverse range of market segments including residential & business supply, nuclear, renewable & thermal generation, and storage & flexible energy.We are looking for a talented Senior Analyst or Analyst to join the Volume Forecasting (VF) team who are responsible for generating electricity and gas forecasts for our customers and forecasting the generation output from one of the largest UK PPA renewable portfolios.The VF team is a critical part of the wider Portfolio Operations team who are responsible for forecasting, hedging, and trading EDF’s entire power and gas portfolio including renewable, nuclear and gas storage.Pay, benefits and cultureAlongside a salary of circa £54,000 (depending on experience) and a market-leading pension scheme, your package will include a range of benefits, from the big and formal to the small and personal.We’re talking about everything from enhanced parental leave to electric vehicle leasing, health insurance to product discounts, critical illness insurance to technology vouchers, gym membership to season ticket loans.At EDF UK, we embrace flexibility while recognising that everyone’s working needs are different. Reporting on the accuracy and financial impact of our renewable (wind, solar, hydro etc) forecasts.

Designing and sharing suitable metrics to measure key aspects of forecasting performance.

Owning and leading a programme of continuous improvement for reporting and insight within the team.

Identifying and supporting delivery of improvements to our renewable forecasts.

Recommending changes to our commercial contracts to protect against new/known forecasting risks.

Using reporting to identify areas for adding value eg certain technologies, locations, sectors, customers etc.

Working closely with stakeholders in WMS, EDF Business Solutions and Finance to enhance our reporting and insight capabilities.

Running business critical operations where required.Who you areWe are looking for:

• Strong coding knowledge in SQL, R, Python or similar.
• Good knowledge of the UK energy market is an advantage.
• Strong understanding of numerical, analytical and modelling skills (e.g. time series analysis and regression).
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to use initiative to develop and execute projects whilst under minimal supervision.
• Positive outlook with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Ability to drive positive change, influence others and think innovatively.
