You’ll play a key role in day-to-day growing operations which contribute to the world-class Penfolds’ collection. This role will see you leading a variety of vineyard operations, technical programs and projects. It is a role that will suit candidates with a strong technical background in viticulture and good leadership qualities. At the heart of this hands-on role is the opportunity to grow your expertise in vineyard management while driving quality, efficiency, and innovation in a prestigious winemaking environment.

  • Technical Support & Data Analysis: Assist vineyard managers and Grower Relations by analyzing field data, yields, nutrition, and viticulture challenges.
  • Operational & Staff Management: Supervise vineyard operations, oversee contractors, and manage resources for efficiency and quality.
  • Planning & Project Coordination: Develop weekly operational plans, execute technical programs, and lead vineyard improvements.
  • Compliance & Safety: Maintain TWE HSE standards, ensure legal adherence, and participate in hazard identification and risk management.
  • Financial Oversight: Support budgeting, monitor expenses, and optimize cost efficiency.
  • Industry Engagement & Continuous Improvement: Partner with industry leaders, drive innovation, and integrate best viticulture practices.
  • Workplace Culture & Employee Well-being: Uphold company values, support employee safety, and ensure effective return-to-work programs.

About youYou bring strong technical skills and a solid understanding of operations, ensuring efficiency and innovation. With proven leadership qualities, you inspire teams and drive success:

  • Extensive knowledge of viticulture, combining practical vineyard operations with technical expertise
  • A strong leader, you will have an inquisitive mind and be a strong collaborator. This is a prime opportunity to help direct reports grow their knowledge and technical ability
  • Tertiary qualifications in Viticulture, Science or strong relevant experience
  • Excellent communicator, both written and verbal
  • Computer literacy particularly in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
