If you are passionate about food, energized by targets, excited by building partnerships from scratch, and obsessed with speed and results – this is your place. As a Vendor Development Representative, you will lead the hunt for top restaurants, caterers, and suppliers to join SmartBite’s expanding platform. You will be on the frontlines negotiating deals, onboarding premium vendors, and shaping the vendor network that powers our service. You must love moving fast, making calls, closing deals, and thinking three steps ahead. Key Responsibilities Aggressively identify, qualify, and recruit top vendors in Kuala Lumpur and surrounding areas. Build a robust pipeline of F&B vendors through calls, emails, meetings, and site visits. Pitch SmartBite’s value proposition to vendors, negotiate win-win partnerships, and close onboarding deals fast. Manage full cycle: from first contact to signing agreements, to menu setup and go-live. Ensure vendors meet SmartBite standards (quality, reliability, pricing, service speed). Act as the vendors’ main point of contact, providing ongoing support and driving continuous improvement. Conduct competitor research to anticipate market movements and maintain an edge. Solve operational bottlenecks related to vendor performance (late deliveries, wrong orders, menu issues). Collaborate closely with Sales and Operations to design special deals, promotions, and optimized vendor offers for key clients. Track, measure, and report on key KPIs – vendor onboarding rate, order acceptance rate, vendor quality score. Be obsessed with data: identify gaps, underperformers, and take immediate action to optimize the vendor base. Profile Requirements Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Hospitality, or equivalent experience. Minimum 2 years of experience in Vendor Management, Procurement, Partnerships, Business Development, or related fields. Experience in F&B marketplaces or the food industry is a strong advantage. Hunter mentality – you love chasing opportunities, closing deals, and winning. Excellent negotiation and persuasion skills. Strong relationship builder with vendors, but with clear performance expectations. Highly organized and detail-oriented even when moving fast. Tough under pressure: you fix problems fast and smart. Language Skills: Mandatory: Fluent English (spoken and written) Preferred: Bahasa Malaysia and/or Mandarin Strong analytical skills and ability to work with vendor performance data. Nice to Haves(Bonuses) Startup experience – you are used to chaos, speed, and autonomy. Experience in B2B food services or logistics-related marketplaces.
