The SME Underwriting teams are focussed on providing exceptional service via telephone, online referrals and other online transactions to our Commercial Brokers Customers for our intermediated Package, Non-Fleet Motor business.The purpose of this role is to lead the day to day operational function of the Underwriting team. This encompasses managing team performance to maximise effectiveness in a dynamic environment, monitor service levels process performance, support the team in delivering exceptional quality customer service, remove blockages to performance, escalate issues and proactively look for ways to simplify processes. Developing capability within their team and providing support and guidance toward career pathways for Underwriters is also a key focus.What you’ll do:

• Actively motivate, develop, coach and engage team members to drive results and create a high performing team
• Work as part of, and contribute to the culture of, a strong cohesive leadership team to create the best outcomes for CCPP and Suncorp
• Attract, lead and develop a diverse workforce and drive an inclusive culture to deliver strategic initiatives, while fostering a team environment where people are accountable for safety and wellbeing
• Build and lead an agile team of engaged, high performing and resilient people who can navigate complexity and create a culture of simplicity, innovation and continuous improvement
• Drive performance of the team and deliver team results against the Division and Platforms strategy.

What you’ll bring:

• Expert understanding of the insurance industry, including insurance products, market environment and customer segments
• Strong ability to contribute to and understand complex and strategic perspectives and translate to tactical solutions.
• Financial / commercial acumen and seasoned business judgement
• Very strong collaborative skills
• Strong knowledge of finance with the ability to interpret and analyse reports relevant to area of responsibility.
