We’re looking for a underwriting assistant to play a crucial role in delivering exceptional service and improving the financial performance of our business. If you’re a problem-solver with a knack for influencing and negotiating, this is the opportunity for you!
How you’ll make an impact

  • Handle technical referrals, assess risks, and provide competitive terms in line with authority or by liaising with underwriters.
  • Negotiate underwriting terms with insurers to achieve optimal outcomes for customers.
  • Build strong insurer relationships and maintain professionalism with all stakeholders.
  • Identify and escalate underwriting concerns or changes in insurer criteria.
  • Ensure referrals are accurate, prompt, and compliant with FCA and legal requirements.
  • Support operational needs and address product or insurer appetite changes.
  • Continuously develop skills to enhance team success and adapt to challenges.

About You

  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to prioritise workload and meet key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • A professional and collaborative approach to working with all stakeholders.
  • Commitment to following in-house processes and maintaining operational effectiveness.
  • Previous underwriting experience or experience working within the insurance industry
