Job description: Who we are looking forAs part of SSCM Global coverage/expansion we are seeking to hire an experienced FX trader with at least 5 years FX experience in order handling/execution. You will be joining a team of
35 employees who manage in excess of 100 clients with over 6000 active accounts and +USD330bn in hedged assets under management. The role will be based in Sydney, Australia.The role of the Currency Management Trader is to ensure that the trading strategy for client accounts are executed according to the mandate guidelines. This includes the full lifecycle of the trade, pre-trade, trade execution, and post-trade. As our investment research and trading arm, SSGM’s number one goal is to enhance and preserve our clients’ portfolio values by applying technology, optimizing trading, and linking asset classes and markets across the world.Join us if making your mark in the capital markets industry from day one is a challenge you are up for.What you will be responsible forAs Trader / Portfolio Manager – Currency Management, VP you willManaging the daily operations for the hedging strategy for assigned clients, ensuring completeness and accuracy of: inbound data receipt, mandate compliance, and client reporting.Order creation, pre-trade due diligence reviews, execution of trades.The PM is expected to exercise reasonable judgement in the management of the hedging program, being able to recognize possible errors in data, identify any operational risks involved, and escalate as requiredProvide post trade TCA, review counterparties and provide feedback to both our clients and our counterparties on performance.Collaborate with the global trading teams located in Boston and London.Contribute to client due diligence visits, monthly service reviews, new client pitches and daily client queries.Manage counterparty diversification, maximum thresholds, operational risks, and TCA analysisWhat we valueThese skills will help you succeed in this roleStrong communication skills and attention to detail are key to the success of a Global Team where client orders / instructions are passed between Sydney, London and Boston.Able to work to strict time critical deadlines whilst ensuring accuracy in order creation / execution.The ability to work independently and as part of a Global teamEducation & Preferred QualificationsAt least 5 years FX experience in order handling/executionExperienced FX trader, ideally with a Swaps / Forwards background.Knowledge / use of BestX or similar for pre/post trade TCA.Experience in using FX Connect / 360T beneficial for order management / execution.Strong communication skills and attention to detail are key to the success of a Global Team where client orders / instructions are passed between Sydney, London and Boston.Able to work to strict time critical deadlines whilst ensuring accuracy in order creation / execution.The ability to work independently and as part of a Global team.A genuine passion for markets, trading and FX.The ability to communicate with our clients where necessary by providing market updates with regards to events / liquidity.Are you the right candidate?
