The successful candidate will lead the Destination Development & Visitor Services function. Leading a small team, this role is pivotal in driving the growth & development of tourism in the beautiful Cowra region.Key Responsibilities:
- The development of tourism experiences and delivering exceptional service standards to elevate the visitor experience
- Leading strategic initiatives to achieve Visit Cowra’ objectives, supporting sustainable growth and ensuring the long-term success of Cowra’s tourism sector
- Providing targeted support and capacity building opportunities to local tourism operators training, conducting product familiarisation tours and identifying new growth opportunities.
- Oversee the Visitor Information Centre, ensuring exceptional customer service and the provision of up-to-date destination information
- Recruit businesses to become members of Cowra Tourism and part of a collaborative and supportive membership network
- Monitor and analyse tourism data, trends and insights to inform strategic decision making and continuous improvement
- Represent CTC at industry events and forums, building strong partnerships and raising the profile of the destination
You Have:
- High level management & leadership skills
- You are personable & can communicate eloquently, both written & verbal, at all levels
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills
- You enjoy working with the community & building relationships
- You possess leadership qualities to drive & lead the function effectively & can provide direction where needed
Skills Required:
- Experience working in a visitor information centre or similar customer-facing role in the tourism industry is desirable.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a proven track record of delivering exceptional customer service.
- Knowledge of the the Cowra region and its offerings is preferable but not essential.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team.
- Proficiency in using booking systems, Microsoft applications, digital platforms and social media.
- Relevant tertiary qualification or experience in tourism, hospitality or a related field would be an advantage.
