Job description: Location: Oshawa, ON (Hybrid – 2 days remote)About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced SOP Specialist to lead the development, improvement, and management of our organization’s standard operating procedures (SOPs). This role combines technical writing, process analysis, and communications expertise to ensure our procedures are clear, consistent, and actionable.You will work closely with stakeholders across departments to document business processes, create a best-in-class SOP framework, and drive adoption through training and communications. If you excel at turning complex information into accessible documentation and have a passion for process excellence, we want to hear from you.Key ResponsibilitiesPartner with stakeholders to gather business requirements and map out detailed processes.Develop, document, and implement a comprehensive SOP framework and templates.Review, assess, and improve existing SOPs for clarity, accuracy, and compliance.Author new SOPs, ensuring consistency, usability, and alignment with organizational standards.Establish processes for regular review, updating, and version control of SOPs.Facilitate workshops and interviews with subject matter experts (SMEs).Train employees on SOP usage, documentation standards, and process adherence.Monitor and report on SOP compliance, adoption, and effectiveness.Stay current on best practices and regulatory requirements related to process documentation.QualificationsProven experience writing and managing SOPs in a technical or business environment.Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.Strong ability to analyze business processes and translate them into clear documentation.Experience with documentation frameworks, templates, and governance processes.Skilled in facilitating workshops and working with cross-functional teams.High attention to detail and accuracy.Experience with documentation management systems or knowledge bases (asset).Process improvement or quality management certifications (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, ISO) (asset).Why Join UsThis is an opportunity to play a key role in shaping how our organization operates by building an SOP framework that ensures clarity, compliance, and efficiency.
