The roleJoin a dynamic team dedicated to plant conservation and research at the Australian Plant Bank at Mount Annan. This hands-on role combines lab-based experiments with field trips to collect and process plant material, contributing directly to vital scientific programs.You’ll work on propagation, germination studies, and data collection while supporting the smooth operation of our nursery and lab facilities. • Passion for Plant Conservation: A strong interest in plant research with relevant qualifications in botany, ecology, or horticulture.
• Technical Expertise: Experience in laboratory and field techniques, including seed collection, propagation, and germination experiments.
• Field Work Capability: Ability to conduct remote fieldwork, collecting and processing plant materials in diverse environments.
• Problem-Solving Skills: A proactive approach to resolving challenges in research and conservation projects.
• Teamwork and Safety Focus: Effective collaboration in multidisciplinary teams, with a commitment to maintaining a safe and organized laboratory environment.

• TAFE or equivalent qualifications in Horticulture or Plant Science.
• Demonstrated experience in field-based sampling and collection of plant materials.
• Experience in scientific data collection, manipulation and management.
• Capacity to conduct field and laboratory-based research.
• Current Australian Drivers licence and willingness to travel.
• Valid Australian drivers licence and ability to travel between sites.
