Job description: Maintain divisional records of databases.05th March, 2025Job Duties:

• District Checking Technical Services

• Maintain divisional records of databases.
• Search and obtain reports, relevant records and engineering information from other divisions, the department library and other Government Departments.
• Engineering Drawings Drafting Services

• Prepare civil engineering drawings, sketches, progress and programme charts.
• Assist in preparation of presentation materials and reports, such as production of charts, figures and sketches, copying, collating and assembling.
• Operate and maintain the CAD system for day-to-day use. including software and hardware, and carrying out back up operations in regular period.
• Maintain, update and keep records of all hard copies of issued drawings and sketches.
• Compile various statistical returns.
• Maintain, update the CAD system for drawing office, if necessary.

• IT Supporting Services:-

• To install and operate computer hardware and software and

To maintain all the office-wise computer network, office automation systems and the departmental-wise systems such as e-mail, electronic document system, antivirus system.(c)
To monitor and manage the departmental computer network and servers, and provide technical support to all end-users.(d)

To assist in maintaining computerized data information system.
To install, validate and manage computer facilities and software.(f)
(g)To help acquire quotations of computer hardware and software from prospective vendors and evaluate such returned quotations for recommendation of acceptance. To also help install and set up newly procured computer equipment and carry out site acceptance test for such newly procured equipment, if necessary; In addition, to install/remove computer hardware, peripherals equipment and software for cases such as re-location of hardware and the reallocation of software.To assist in the implementation of various departmental computer system such as Electronic Record Keeping (ERKs).(h)
To provide technical support and advise on computer usage, hardware and software.4. Carry out any other technical related duties.Requirements:(a) Obtained a Diploma or Higher Certificate in Civil Engineering or equivalent fields from a Hong Kong polytechnic/polytechnic university, the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education or a technical institute/ technical college, or equivalent;

• Met the language proficiency requirements of Level 2 or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE)
• Experience in operating CAD system. (Knowledge in MicroStation or Building Information Modelling is preferable but not essential)
