The purpose of this role is to provide technical assistance to assist in the onboarding of new Claims Advisors including arranging system access, equipment allocation and building access. The Technical Advisor will also be responsible for the scheduling and facilitating of onboarding training, day-to-day claims management mentoring and negotiations training.The Technical Advisor will also mentor current Claims Advisors by contributing to and driving proactive claims management across the division. They will be responsible for ensuring cost effective intervention is provided in a timely manner and influencing effective claims strategy within the claims team.As this role involves hands-on training with new starters essential in-office collaboration and training sessions is a must. In office time would be based on business needs for 4-5 days a week, most weeks. Working closely in person with new starters creates a supportive office environment, you’ll have the chance to make a real impact while boosting your own professional growthWhat you’ll do (not limited to):
- Act as the subject matter expert for the immediate team in area of specialisation and is the main point of contact for all technical queries relating to policy, legislation, product knowledge, systems, processes or procedures
- Provides specialist technical and/or professional advice for the authorisation and approval of complex claims/policies involving analysis and experience to arrive at the correct course of action
- Increase awareness of the cost and consequence of technical decisions
- Actively share knowledge, advise, and coach others to build and develop technical capabilities to create a ‘high performing team” environment
- Execute high-quality learning experiences in accordance with adult and modern learning principles.
What you will bring:
- Minimum 5 year’s technical insurance experience
- Ability to make effective decisions in a timely manner and in line with delegated authority
- Ability to identify developmental needs of team members and recommend training activities to achieve positive outcomes
- Financial knowledge sufficient to interpret and analyse reports relevant to area of responsibility
- Ability to coach and mentor others to build technical knowledge and expertise.
