However, often these processes can be technical and complex. The Case Management team work with internal staff and a range of external stakeholders to assist our regulatory customers through these processes.About the role | Ko te mahi neiThe Team Leader Case Management and Relationships oversees and leads the team to ensure we are providing an effective and efficient service. They’re across the legislative obligations when it comes to regulatory approvals and can identify the customers that would benefit from our case management service. They lead by example and build a collaborative team environment with purpose and empathy. Priorities of this role include:

  • Developing and maintaining effective relationships and communication with other team leaders and managers involved with regulatory approvals to ensure that operational decisions are made with the integrity of the process and the customer in mind
  • Proactively engaging with key stakeholders and customers to listen and provide early advice in relation to upcoming projects, issues, and barriers.
  • Proactively looking for opportunities to improve the end-to-end regulatory processes
  • Providing direction, empowerment, motivation, and development to achieve business unit, group and organisational goals.

About you | Ko Koe TēneiThe ideal candidate for this role will have proven experience maintaining stakeholder relationships and have strong communication and networking skills to support them. They will be a critical thinker, able to resolve complex customer issues and manage multiple complex projects at any one time. Ideally they will also bring with them:

  • A tertiary qualification
  • At least 5 years experience in a team leadership role in a large organisation
  • Detailed knowledge of relevant regulatory processes (e.g. Resource consent, building consent, etc.) and legislation (e.g. Resource Management Act, Building Act).
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and leading high performing teams.

Position – Permanent
Location – This position is primarily based at Te Hononga, Christchurch City Council Civic Offices – 53 Hereford Street
Salary – The salary band for this position goes from $115,466 to $128,295 per annum based on a 40 hour week. Starting salaries will be based on knowledge, skills and experience the successful candidate brings to the role, and relativities both, within the immediate team and in the broader organisation for the same or similar roles.
