APAC Business Unit Support is provided from our offices in Brisbane, Perth and Melbourne.Where you’ll be workingBased out of Newmont’s Subiaco office in Perth, this role is offered as a hybrid/WFH with a 5:2 Monday to Friday roster, and is part of the Materials Management & Logistics team supporting multiple Australian sites, including Boddington, Tanami, and Cadia. This role involves some site travel.This role will suit applicants currently living in Perth. Residents of another Australian capital city will be considered for the ideal candidate. Full eligibility for employment in Australia will be essential.This role will be offered on a fully flexible hybrid/work from home basis. It is anticipated you will be a seasoned professional accustomed to working from home while utilising the Newmont capital city office hub when required to be effective in your role.Who we’re looking forReporting to the Lead, Materials Management & Logistics, the Team Lead in Inventory Management & Reporting will play a crucial role in fostering team collaboration, mentoring and technical development of the materials management team including other key stakeholders, and driving operational success. You will ensure the completion and maintenance of procedure documents for team members, assess data to identify trends and patterns, and supervise project team members to ensure timely delivery. Your role will also involve reporting data to identify trends and insights and communicating these effectively.Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensure all project management procedures are meticulously documented and regularly updated, providing a clear and comprehensive guide for team members to follow.
  • Analyze data to uncover significant trends and actionable insights, and present these findings in a clear and compelling manner to stakeholders, facilitating informed decision-making.
  • Lead the rollout of new software systems, ensuring smooth integration and adoption by the team, and providing training and support to maximize the benefits of these technological advancements.
  • Actively assist and motivate team members to reach their project goals, offering guidance, resources, and encouragement to overcome challenges and ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Continuously evaluate and refine operational processes to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and streamline workflows, driving overall productivity and success.

Skills & Qualification:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or related field, or an Associate’s degree with relevant experience is desirable.
  • Certification in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) or Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in utilizing SAP ERP systems for effective inventory management and data analysis.
  • Extensive experience with IBM’s Maximo MRO Inventory Optimization tools or comparable inventory optimization applications.
  • Broad business knowledge with the ability to recognize issues and capitalize on opportunities.
  • Knowledge of end-to-end supply chain processes, including procurement, warehousing, and logistics.
  • Familiarity with mining industry-specific equipment, spare parts, consumables, and their supply and demand cycles.
  • Knowledge of HSE standards and regulations related to inventory and material handling in the mining sector.
  • Experience in inventory control and management in mining environments or heavy industry sectors.
  • Strong collaboration, communication, and interpersonal skills.
