Job description: Our client in Mississauga is seeking a detail-oriented Tax Preparer for a 2-month, fully on-site contract. The ideal candidate will have over two years of experience in a general accounting firm, preparing tax returns for Ontario residents, including self-employed individuals, sole proprietors, and small businesses. Proficiency in Profile tax software and experience in preparing working paper files are essential.Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare personal income tax returns (T1 General) for Ontario residents, including self-employment income, sole proprietorship income, and small business income.
• Utilize Profile or similar tax software to accurately input tax information.
• Complete relevant forms and schedules, such as Form T2125: Statement of Business or Professional Activities and Form T777: Statement of Employment Expenses.
• E-file tax returns in compliance with Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) guidelines.
• Assist in preparing working paper files for year-end engagements.
• Prepare Notice to Reader financial statements as required.
• Identify and address discrepancies or issues in tax returns, collaborating with the team for resolution.
• Assist in responding to tax-related inquiries and ensure adherence to Ontario tax laws and regulations.
• Work efficiently to meet tight deadlines during the tax season.

• Proficiency in using Profile or similar tax software.
• Experience with e-filing tax returns.
• Previous tax preparation experience in a general accounting firm.
• Strong understanding of personal tax filings, including self-employment, sole proprietorship, and small business returns.
• Experience in preparing working paper files and Notice to Reader engagements.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication skills with a client-focused attitude.
