  • Gathering requirements from key business stakeholders and facilitating reporting workshops
  • Applying a design-led approach to translate requirements into deliverables for Tableau dashboards and reports (including underlying metrics and calculations alongside specifying the data granularity)
  • Providing “T-shirt” size high-level effort estimates
  • Undertaking impact analysis, assessing change readiness
  • Produce high quality documentation for functional specifications and/or support documents for your colleagues
  • Assist to create test scenarios and facilitating test plans
  • Communicating with the technical resources on the project in order to convert the requirements into a working technical solution
  • Taking part in daily SCRUM roundtables to give updates on and/or resolve issues with wider team
  • Acting as an SME on data flows, data structures, KPIs and reports
  • Supporting Tableau applications when they go live and providing SME support to resolve business user issues with them
  • Assist in Business Change Management and Service Transition / Readiness
  • Undertaking impact analysis, assessing change readiness and identifying key stakeholders
  • Supporting training efforts for end users of Tableau applications
  • Work effectively in diverse teams with an inclusive team, culture where people are recognized for their contribution

Connect to your skills and professional experienceEssential

  • Proven experience using Tableau Desktop and Server on projects as a data analyst and/or solution developer
  • Basic knowledge of SQL scripting and/or use of Tableau against databases with a live connection
  • Strong understanding of best-practice principles for data visualization, performance and report design using Tableau
  • Experience of running workshops in-person or remotely to gather requirements
  • Capable of creating high-quality functional specifications documentation
  • A passion for thinking innovatively and creating intuitive and easy to use interfaces that delight end users and that solve business problems
  • Excellent consultancy / client-facing skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

DesirableAny of the following would be nice-to-have but not essential:

  • Tableau Desktop/Server training or equivalent Certification
  • Experience of Azure DEVOPS boards (or similar like GitHub or JIRA) and / or working in an Agile / DevOps orientated team
  • Understands Service Management (ITIL) principles or experience of using tool such as ServiceNow
  • Good understanding of the design principles of a SQL-based Data Warehouse
  • Python or other programming language knowledge
  • Functional knowledge of SAP S4 HANA Finance, Salesforce CRM or SAP HCM as a data source
