Job description: We are a disability service provider specialising in individualised disability support services in the Gippsland area.We are currently looking to employ casual Disability Support Worker team members across the Gippsland area.The successful candidate/s will be joining a dedicated organisation committed to delivering quality service to enhance the life of our valued participants while meeting their day-to-day needs.ABOUT YOUTo be considered for this position, you must already hold or be willing to obtain the following:

• Genuine passion for working with NDIS participants and a desire to make a positive impact on their lives.
• Experience working with people with disabilities.
• A valid Driver Licence.
• A registered and reliable motor vehicle with full comprehensive insurance.
• A current Police Check / National Criminal Check or a willingness to obtain one.
• A current Working With Children Check or a willingness to obtain one.
• You must have the right to live and work in Australia.
• Flexibility in terms of availability, including the ability to work within the hours of 7:00 am – 7:00 pm, Monday to Friday, and potential for weekend shifts.

• Current First Aid & CPR
• Qualification (Cert IV or higher) in Individual Support, Aged Care, Disability, Mental Health, Community Services Individual Support or Aged Care
• NDIS Worker Screening Check
• Behaviour Training

The applicant should also be able to demonstrate the ability to:

• Oversee the general day to day tasks of disability support care.
• Provide assistance with household tasks and domestic duties in the home such as cooking, cleaning, washing and general garden maintenance.
• Transport people to access activities and essential services. This may include pick up and drop off for work, school, after school care, general appointments, shopping, etc.
• Aid the development of daily living and life skills.
• Provide developmental focused activities and training to enhance the person’s ability to live as independent and everyday life as possible.
• Aid participation in the community which may include support in shopping, sporting and recreational events, new hobbies, social activities, visiting or making new friends, and the building confidence and general social skills.
• Support a participant’s goals as listed on their NDIS plans and working with allied health professional and their strategies to support the participant’s goals.
• The ability to consistently comply with all policies and procedures, and occupational health and safety obligations.
• The ability to work positively with others in a team environment.
• Excellent interpersonal skills including well-developed written and verbal communication skills, conflict resolution, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• An empathic approach to service delivery, with a flexible and adaptable style, a sense of humour, and keen attention to detail.
• Competency to work with a range of clients with varying needs including personal care.

As a successful applicant, you will work in a Team Environment, helping build the independence and capacity of participants with psychological disabilities, intellectual disabilities, mental health conditions, and physical assistance needs.WE OFFER

This is a casual position and the shifts may offer are a mixture of weekday and weekend shifts. It would be favourable that applicants are able to work both day and night shifts as required.Wages for Support Work is based on the NDIS Pricing Arrangements and the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award [MA000100].
