KONE Supply Chain also drives the Safety, Quality, Environment and Sustainability work across KONE.Supplier Quality Management (SQM) is a global organization, part of the KONE Safety & Quality Organization that is responsible for ensuring a safe People Flow™.We are looking for a Supplier Sr. Quality Engineer to join the SQM team in Kunshan, ChinaIn this role, you will be responsible for supplier selection, qualification, development, and management processes to achieve the expected level of quality and service. The SQM Sr. Engineer ensures that suppliers are capable and complying with KONE’s quality and sustainability requirements. SQM effectively applies supplier quality management processes, tools, and resources to drive KONE Supplier Excellence.Responsibilities and key activities:
- Taking part in piloting and implementing quality practices and requirements, both in the SQM team and within the defined material category
- Partnering with stakeholders to ensure that product and process quality, technical and business requirements are defined for the category’s supplier base
- Manage supplier qualification process and participate in supplier negotiations as required to ensure supplier quality commitment
- Monitor and report supplier delivery/quality performance and ensure corrective/preventive actions
- Ensure audits/assessments at suppliers are planned and executed with the target of securing adherence to KONE’s quality and sustainability requirements. Ensure transparency of information
- Ensure that reported quality issues and audit/assessment findings are analyzed, root-caused and corrective/preventive actions agreed upon, implemented to prevent a reoccurrence of quality issues
- Continuously improve suppliers and mitigate potential risks to achieve business objectives and drive supplier development projects, as well as drive their performance by building and establishing effective corrective and improvement actions
- Act as result provider in new product/change projects and ensure the right quality via execution of production part approval process (PPAP)
- Actively support the implementation of Lean Six Sigma methodologies at suppliers and internal KONE processes
- Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and sustainability standards
- Implementing Quality Strategy together with the team and staying up to date with industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to supplier quality management.
Requirements for the role:
- At the minimum University/University of Applied Sciences level degree
- Minimum 3-7 years of experience in the Mechanics parts fabrication manufacturing environment(E.g. Machining, welding, assembly, casting, painting, plating, etc.) with a strong technical background
- Product and process auditing experience, management system auditing experience with ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 or similar
- Fluency in English (Read, Write, and Spoken)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and can interface with many parties at all levels in an international and cross-cultural environment
- Good analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills accompanied by an excellent project management approach with strong stakeholder management capabilities
- Strong solution-oriented approach, capability to implement, and persistency in follow-up activities to ensure quality and sustainability
- Self-driven and self-motivated to learn and coach others to produce results
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (~ 30% of the time)
Add-ons that will make the application stronger:
- B.SC level technical / Mechanic / industrial Eng degree
- Fluency in English and Chinese, both in writing and oral
- Certification within Lean and/or Six Sigma green belt
- Understand automotive industry quality practices such as VDA 6.3
- Strong background in mechanic engineering and/or material sciences
