  • Be returning back to school after the work term end-date of August 2025; or
  • If you are not returning back to school (i.e. are graduating in April/August 2025), but you require the work term as a mandatory component to in order to graduate successfully.

Please ensure that you meet these eligibility requirements before applying – candidates who apply but are found to be ineligible are not able to be considered.What is the opportunity?Physical Network Strategy (PNS) is accountable for the planning, delivery and evolution of the Canadian branch and ATM network. The Planning & Integration team within Physical Network Strategy works closely with Regional Leadership to identify investment strategies, develop holistic market reviews and ongoing portfolio management of our branch and ATM networks.The team is recruiting for a Business/Data Analyst Summer Student. In this role, you will leverage your business/data background to support the evolution of our data strategy including data management, back end architecture, inventory of information, reporting & insights, and support.What will you do?

  • Assist in the design/build of databases; enhance reporting templates, tools and dashboards; provide efficiencies in processes/workflows – both evolving and new;
  • Analyze data sets and provide insights to inform strategy and business decisions;
  • Partner with internal teams to source, blend and compile data from disparate sources and formats to update internal reports and modelling templates;
  • Provide support to internal lines of business for ad-hoc requests;
  • Assist in researching new capabilities and technologies to drive innovation.

What do you need to succeed?

  • Undergraduate/Graduate student from Business, Statistics, Geomatics, or related program
  • Strong analytical, organizational and research skills
  • Experience in data architecture and design of databases
  • Sound judgment in handling matters of a confidential and/or sensitive nature
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Able to grasp concepts quickly and work under minimal supervision

Nice to have

  • Experience with Business intelligence (BI) and or database software (SQL, Alteryx, Tableau)
  • Working knowledge in building statistical and algorithmic models including but not limited to supervised statistical learning, clustering, recommendation systems, times-series analysis
  • Experience manipulating and analyzing large datasets
  • Experience with Geographic Information System (GIS) software (preferably MapInfo)
