Job description: UPMC Children’s Hospital Foundation student program offers the opportunity to gain an understanding, over the course of 12 weeks, of the various functions of a robust fundraising and development workplace including donor prospecting and retention strategies, events planning, non-profit writing, patient family coordination, and donor stewardship among others. Students will work on a specific project or projects, while also being exposed to the various departments within the Foundation and their responsibilities. Our program offers a stepping stone into the world of nonprofit fundraising and provides critical hands-on training and experience for students who seek to enter the field, helping to develop the next generation of development and nonprofit professionals.Responsibilities:

• Complete function specific tasks and assignments
• Present to senior leadership
• Represent UPMC internally and externally
• Participate in service and social activities
• *Performs in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors.
• *Performs other duties as assigned.

High School Diploma or GED required. Open to students who have completed their sophomore year college or university course requirements or greater.Strong verbal, written, interpersonal and problem-solving skills and the ability to work with many different constituencies such as donors, volunteers, trustees and staff.Ability to present a professional image of the hospital and articulate mission and values of the hospital.High level of enthusiasm, initiative, motivation.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications.Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

• Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal
• Act 33 with renewal
• Act 34 with renewal
• Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
