With our diverse and collaborative team managing everything from engineering to marketing and buying to reconditioning in-house, we’re powered by the best people and we’d love for you to come along for the ride.The Strategy & Business Operations Manager will work closely with the Leadership Team and across the business to help solve our most pressing strategic, commercial and operational problems. As a rapidly scaling startup in the Australian automotive industry, this role will involve building scalable capabilities and processes while working in a fast-paced environment. This is a high-impact role at Carma that spans company-wide projects and initiatives, including across buying, reconditioning, sales, customer experience, and physical expansion.Responsibilities;
– Partner closely with our Leadership Team and key business functions to identify, prioritize, and solve critical problems for Carma
– Manage and drive key strategic, commercial, and operational projects and initiatives across the business
– Work closely with stakeholders across the business at all levels to understand business requirements, develop and optimize processes, set and execute actionable plans, and support ongoing decision-making
– Work closely with Product and Technology teams to help develop systems, tooling and digital products to achieve business outcomes and deliver exceptional customer experiences, including translating business needs into technical requirements and collaborating effectively to ensure successful implementation
– Build operational and financial models and dashboards to track company-level success metrics, assess commercial opportunities, identify insights into business performance, support decision-making, and develop actionable recommendations for business improvement
– Create presentations and reports to communicate findings, insights, and recommendations to senior and executive leadership and other stakeholders
– Assist with planning, forecasting and OKR goal setting and tracking
– Help identify, assess, onboard and manage external commercial partners across the business
– Help keep the Leadership Team, Board, investors and other key stakeholders informed on business performance with presentations, reports and digestible insightsRequirements;
– Ideally 5-7+ years of proven experience in strategic, commercial and operational projects, ideally within management consulting, investment banking, private equity, venture capital, and/or a high-growth startup
– Strong commercial acumen and an analytical and strategic mindset that can critically assess information, unpack complex problems, build structured solutions for them, and manage their execution to drive business impact
– Data-driven mindset with attention to detail and an ability to plan and construct complex operational and financial analysis with clarity. – Experience with databases and visualisation tools (e.g. SQL, PowerBI, Tableau etc.) would be advantageous
– Self-starter with strong work planning and project management skills and the ability to operate independently and proactively, deal with ambiguity and competing priorities, and deliver on multiple projects concurrently within a fast-paced, high-growth environment
– Excellent communication skills, with the ability to distill complex concepts and analysis into clear, concise and actionable insights and recommendations for presentation to high-profile stakeholders
– Strong relationship-building, business partnering and stakeholder management skills at all levels, with the ability to influence without direct authority, align cross-functional teams around common goals, drive consensus, and ‘get stuff done’ with ownership
– Hold a continuous improvement mindset and can pivot quickly and often, displaying tenacity and resilience under pressure
– An undergraduate degree with high academic achievement in business, finance, economics, engineering, law, or a related field
