Job description: We have an exciting new role based full-time in Dubai. As a Strategy and Business Improvement Manager you will manage and develop the long-term business improvement strategy. You will do this by continually reviewing both the strategic and operational practices and processes and identifying more efficient, practical and productive ways of conducting business for dnata Asia Pacific and Middle East & Africa region. The Strategy and Business Improvement Manager will be responsible for cross-departmental strategic and productivity improvements within the businesses.dnata is one of the world’s largest air and travel services providers; offering ground handling, cargo, travel and catering & retail services at over 130 airports in more than 34 countries across six continents. At dnata, we are by your side for the entire travel experience.In this role, you will:

  • Support definition of the region’s strategy, including identification of key target markets, accelerate growth of high margin services, identify opportunities for cost efficiency and transformation plans.
  • Indirectly manage both internal business units and external stakeholders to gain acceptance of, and participation with agreed projects and process changes. Leverage and build synergies across all business areas to maximize productivity and provide the best opportunity for success.
  • Identify, recommend industry best practice improvements to systems, processes and structures to enhance the operational effectiveness. Serve as an expert resource to the business on improvement of process using various business tools, philosophy, theory, and application tools/tactics.
  • Manage agreed business improvement projects through to implementation., including business development and M&A projects to support expansion plans of the region.
  • Keep abreast of industry standards / processes and initiate trials and site visits for benchmarking. Include Customer and dnata’s point of view, when developing and improving processes.
  • Support M&A initiatives end-to-end: identification of potential targets aligned to the region’s strategy, due diligence and business case preparation, and post-acquisition implementation.
  • Advise management on process improvement opportunities providing operational and strategic business advice. Influence senior stakeholders to ensure that internal corporate departments buy-in to the strategies. Revise current practices, processes or policies to achieve the identified cost savings and tangible results.
  • Liaise with support functions (Finance, Internal Audit, Revenue Accounts, Human Resources, Performance Development’ etc.) in all plans and strategies to ensure effective implementation and on-going management of the agreed activities.
  • Develop and promote successful working relationships with internal departments and related external suppliers.
  • Explore new avenues of cost containment, increasing productivity or improving efficiency across all operational areas of the business
  • Lead and support change processes in conjunction with strategic plans

To be considered for the role, you must meet the below requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or Honours
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience.
  • Advanced analytical skills with demonstrated experience in leading a P&L.
  • Advanced skills in Office suites.
  • Strong knowledge of business improvement/ processes.
  • Demonstrated Project Management Skills and the ability to manage programs, projects, orders, activities

You will have an edge, if you have:

  • Experience in Aviation/ Ground Handling/ Airport Operations
  • Previous management consulting experience.
  • Project management skills with Lean, six sigma, or other process mapping tools.
