Job description: Job DescriptionSyrian Negotiation CommissionDescriptionBackgroundThe Syrian Negotiation Commission – Geneva Office (SNCGO) represents and supports the SNC and its mandate by expanding and facilitating outreach to Syrians and international actors. The SNC works towards a negotiated end to the conflict benefitting the Syrian people through dialogue, peaceful means and democracy in line with UN Security Council Resolution 2254.The SNCGO seeks to develop a comprehensive strategic plan to enhance institutional maturity and build capacity in strategic planning and performance measurement. This aims also to establish a clear organizational structure and governance framework to support the implementation of the SNCGO objectives.Key Responsibilities
- Conduct an in-depth analysis of the SNC/GO current operations, governance frameworks, and institutional maturity.
- Identify relevant best practices in strategic planning and organizational development.
- Design and facilitate workshops to engage stakeholders and gather insights on the strategic planning process.
- Develop and present a clear and efficient strategic plan and an organizational structure.
- Finalize the strategic plan and organizational structure based on stakeholder input.
Deliverables
- A comprehensive work plan and supporting documentation.
- A strategic analysis report highlighting best practices.
- The final strategic plan.
- Regular progress reports throughout the project phases.
Qualifications
- Advanced degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field.
- At least seven years of experience in strategic planning, organizational development, and governance frameworks.
- Familiarity with the operational context of NGOs and similar organizations.
- Strong facilitation and communication skills, with experience in stakeholder engagement.
- Ability to analyze complex organizational challenges and propose practical solutions.
Contract Duration10 November (ideally as soon as possible) – March 31, 2025.Duty StationThe consultant will work remotely with possible on-site visits as required to Istanbul and Geneva, depending on the needs of SNC/GO.Application ProcessInterested candidates should submit their resume, cover letter, financial offer in a separate document (daily rate in EUR), and any relevant supporting documents to by COB 5 November 2024.Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
