We have an exciting opportunity for a Strategic Activity & Asset Planning Advisor to join our Delivery – Sustainability and Infrastructure team in a full-time, permanent role.This pivotal position offers the chance to provide technical leadership in asset and activity management planning, helping to establish a centre of excellence for asset management within Council. With government direction increasingly focused on robust asset management, your expertise will directly influence the success of our infrastructure and operations.You’ll play a key role in the development of our Infrastructure Asset and Activity Management Plans, ensuring governance decisions are backed by strong evidence and sound strategy – so we can confidently deliver the right outcomes, in the right place, at the right time.Collaboration is at the heart of this role. You’ll work closely with colleagues across the business unit and wider Council teams, including Delivery – Sustainability and Infrastructure, Three Waters, Parks & Open Spaces, Finance teams. You’ll also advise on improvements to deliver consistent activity and asset management practices.If you’re passionate about sustainable infrastructure, strategic planning, and making a real impact in your community, this is your opportunity to lead and influence at a high level.Key Responsibilities | Ngā haepapa matua

  • Actively ensure that legislative requirements and Council policies and procedures are fulfilled, particularly in relation to all key relevant legislation.
  • Advise on the preparation of timely master plans for the long-term development of Council Infrastructure.
  • Provide expert input and content for the development of Activity Management Plans and the Long-Term Plan. Be the lift and shift in terms of asset/activity planning capability across Council.
  • Coordinate the development of Forward Works Plans (3-year, 10-year).
  • Coordination of Maintenance Management Plans and Data Quality Plans with annual reviews.
  • Improve processes to facilitate data quality improvement.
  • Implementation of Asset Management Improvement Plan items.
  • Work with relevant stakeholders to review the benefits delivered through the Annual or Long-Term Plan.
  • Represent Council on groups such as Āpōpō / IPWEA / REG.

Essential Skills and Experience | Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako

  • Tertiary qualification in an engineering or science related discipline.
  • Certificate in Asset Management (IPWEA or equivalent).
  • Experience in Enterprise Asset Management, RAMM or similar digital asset and work management software.
  • Experience with decision support systems (e.g. JunoViewer, dTIMS).
