Job description: Salary: HK$33,405 per monthEntry Requirements:Candidates should have–
(a) (i) an Ordinary Certificate in Statistics from the Hong Kong Statistical Society, or equivalent; or
(ii) a Higher Certificate in Statistics from the Hong Kong Statistical Society, or equivalent; or
(iii) a Higher Certificate in Mathematical Studies from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, or equivalent; or
(iv) an Associate Degree in Statistics and Computing for Business from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, or equivalent; or
(v) a Higher Diploma in Mathematics, Statistics and Computing or Statistics and Computing for Business from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, or equivalent; or;
(vi) a Higher Diploma in Applied Statistics and Computing or Business Analysis from the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education, or equivalent;
(b) met the language proficiency requirement of “Level 2” or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent (Note (1)); and
(c) at least three years’ practical experience in statistical work.Note: (1) “Grade E” in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in the HKCEE before 2007 are accepted administratively as comparable to “Level 2” in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth.
(2) Candidates who are selected for interview may be required to sit for computer skills test.Duties: (a) To input, check and edit statistical data;
(b) To assist in compilation, analysis and dissemination of statistical data;
(c) To compile statistical tables or charts and reports;
(d) To prepare simple computer programmes and apply computer packages in processing statistical data;
(e) To provide technical support on statistical analysis and research; and
(f) To perform other duties in relation to statistical work.Other Job-related Requirements: Successful candidate will be required to work in the Island West Transfer Station Administration Building in the Kennedy Town. The hours and venues of work may be varied having regard to the operational needs of the department.Terms of Appointment: Successful candidate will be appointed on non-civil service contract terms for six months.Fringe Benefits 14 days paid annual leave will be granted to the successful candidate. The entitlement of annual leave will be calculated on pro-rata basis for appointment less than 12 months. The eligibility for rest days, statutory holidays (or substitute holidays), maternity/ paternity leave and sickness allowance, where appropriate, is in line with those provided for under the Employment Ordinance. A gratuity may be granted at the end of the contract period if the contract is satisfactorily completed with consistently high standard of performance and conduct. Such gratuity, if granted, plus any contribution made by the Government to a Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) Scheme in respect of the appointee as required by the MPF Schemes Ordinance, will be equal to 10% of the total basic salary received during the contract period.How to apply: Application Forms [G.F. 340 (Rev. 7/2023)] are obtainable from any Home Affairs Enquiry Centres of District Offices, Home Affairs Department or any Job Centres of the Employment Services Division, Labour Department.
