Job description: Department/Cluster: Bureau Support, Strategy and Planning Division, HA Head OfficePay: HK$52,752 – HK$69,414 per month (including Monthly Allowance) [HGPS point 22 to 28]Up to 15% of total basic salary (after deducting the contribution of Mandatory Provident Fund by Hospital Authority) as end-of-contract gratuity may be offered to contract staff upon completion of the contract subject to satisfactory performance.Key ResponsibilitiesThe Statistical Analyst I will be seconded to the Research and Data Analytics Office, Health Bureau.One of the key roles of Research and Data Analytics Office is to transform data into insightful information with a view to informing planning, formulation, implementation and evaluation of policies on the healthcare system and financing through analysing data amassed from multiple sources and conducting surveys and research studies.The main duties of Statistical Analyst I are given as follows –1. Carry out the following duties in support of the Senior Statistical Analyst to complete the tasks assigned to the team:a. Perform data exploration on data in the Data Analytics Platform (DAP) and other data sources to support development of data visualisation, data analytics and statistical modelling;b. Develop structured processes to extract, organise and transform data into analysable datasets supporting development of data visualisation, data analytics and statistical modelling;c. Implement the planned data visualisation, data analytics and statistical modelling tasks; andd. Provide administrative support on establishment of mechanism and documentation on control and regular review of in-house staff access rights to analytics tools and data in the DAP.2. Prepare documentation of statistical and data analytics production processes and presentation materials.3. Execute the tasks as planned in the statistical and data analytics production processes.Entry Requirements1. A bachelor degree in Statistics, Data Science or equivalent.2. At least 3 years’ post-qualification experience in statistical analysis and computing work, or research related work.Preferable Attributes / Exposure1. Knowledge of and experience in statistical computing techniques and application of statistical packages & data visualization tools such as SAS, Tableau, Python, R, GIS.2. Experience in handling demographic, socio-economic and health related statistics.3. Experience in statistical analysis and computing work, economic analysis, or research related work at health settings.4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (including Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Word and Outlook).5. Good command of both spoken and written English and Chinese.6.
