Job description: Your tasks
As a staff scientist, you will support an inter-disciplinary team in the implementation and analysis of complex surveys, notably the European Social Survey (ESS) and the Student Social Survey (SOLA), in all phases of data collection and processing. Your tasks will include − Carrying out statistical analyses and preparing reports − Programming syntaxes for data preparation and plausibility checks − Maintenance of project-specific databases − Supporting the helplines and field management − Revising and translating questionnaires − Ensuring smooth collaboration in international research teams
Your profile
− You hold a Master’s degree in economics, sociology, statistics or a related field − You have a sound knowledge of statistical methods for applied economic and social research− You are an experienced programmer (e.g., Python, R, STATA, Matlab, SPSS) and have a very good command of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). − You have excellent written and verbal communication skills in German and English− You are a team- and service-oriented personality with a structured and independent way of working

Your application
The monthly salary for the advertised position is € 3,831.15 gross for a 35-hour week, paid 14 times per year. The position is to be filled as soon as possible, preferably by January 15, 2025.
