In addition, employees receive 10 paid holidays per year, and a PTO program that accrues 23 days during the first year of employment and grows with tenure.Job DescriptionThe Senior Quantitative Analyst joining our Quantitative Analysis team will leverage their transactional and financial modeling experience to play an integral role in supporting our attorneys and leadership for our Corporate Department’s leading practice groups, including Emerging Companies, Capital Markets and Mergers & Acquisitions.As a Senior Quantitative Analyst at firm, you will be working closely with our Corporate Department leadership and attorneys. You will develop client-facing capitalization models to be used in M&A transactions, SPAC, deSPAC, and early stage/venture capital financing engagements. Our attorneys and their clients rely on the models prepared by the Senior Analyst to determine the distribution of cash proceeds amongst equity and debt holders or determine the capitalization structure as a result of the proposed transaction. On an as-needed basis, you will work with the attorneys and update the models as the terms of the deal progress. Financial models include but are not limited to proforma capitalizations, liquidation waterfalls, merger consideration spreadsheets, voting models, and IPO S-1 models. You will also be responsible for developing and maintaining training materials as well as mentoring and training our team of analysts and associates so they can provide modeling assistance as the need arises, while accomplishing these and other critical functions:

  • Engaging with Attorney deal teams on transactions which require financial modeling support, including proforma capitalizations, liquidation waterfalls, merger consideration spreadsheets, voting models, and IPO S-1 models
  • Advising the internal deal team using the knowledge gained from this analysis, answering any questions that may arise regarding the data and/or analytical methods, and assumptions used to build the work product
  • Producing client-ready financial models and effectively communicating analysis and work product to the Partners and Associates on the transaction as well as to the external clients, on an as-needed basis
  • Maintaining detailed records documenting procedures, methodologies, and sources of information employed while performing analytical tasks
  • Ensuring timely delivery of accurate and professional work product
  • Participating in learning education classes for our Attorneys related to quantitative analysis work.
  • Developing and maintaining training materials such as reference guides, training presentations, library of training exercises, and tip sheets; training, mentoring, and coaching junior analysts on this work stream
  • Maintaining professional image within the Finance and Accounting department and project the same image to those outside the department
  • Promoting effective work practices, working as a team member, and showing respect for co-workers
  • Helping recruit, develop, and mentor other analysts

Qualifications/Criteria:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field is required. A financial / industry qualification (CFA) is desired.
  • 5+ years of related analytical experience at a professional services organization in corporate finance, consulting, or M&A, as well as experience working on ad-hoc requests and projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment is desired.
  • Investment Banking background highly desired
  • Proficiency with a PC environment and related software and proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word is desired.

  • Possess excellent leadership skills including: organizing, planning, problem-solving and decision-making, displaying the ability to lead large, long-term, and complex projects from inception to completion and the ability to develop alternative solutions to meet goals.

  • Excellent analytical skills are desired, as well as the ability to work independently to research, analyze, and develop financial information.
  • Must display the ability to draw conclusions from analysis, make recommendations to management, and display the ability to learn and apply new skills quickly and effectively.

Expected salary: $160000 per year
