Job description: SRA is sourcing for our client, a major utility provider in Saskatchewan, seeking two (2) experienced Project Managers to support strategic IT initiatives within its Nuclear Development division. These positions will play a critical role in managing projects from initiation to operational transition, ensuring timely and compliant delivery aligned with the organization’s nuclear and IT project governance frameworks.Client: Utility Provider – Nuclear Subsidiary (Saskatchewan)Project RFR#: 1016238Role: Project Manager (2 Positions)Job Type: ContractStart Date: April 28, 2025End Date: March 31, 2026Work Location: Onsite in Saskatchewan (Required) — Limited Hybrid Flexibility (Onsite presence weighted at 20% of candidate evaluation)Industry: Utilities / Energy / NuclearHours per Week: 40 hoursThe successful candidates will oversee complex initiatives in areas such as Cybersecurity (SIEM), Enterprise Content Management, Custom Web Applications, and Microsoft Azure Infrastructure. Onsite presence in Saskatchewan is mandatory, though some limited hybrid flexibility may be considered.Key Responsibilities:Project Management & GovernanceLead end-to-end delivery of IT projects using SaskPower’s Nuclear Development Project Management Framework.Develop project charters, execution plans, and performance baselines.Track project progress with Earned Value techniques (CPI, SPI).Scope, Schedule & Budget ControlDefine WBS and manage scope changes.Develop and maintain detailed schedules with critical path tracking.Perform monthly forecasting, accruals, and financial reporting.Execution & TransitionLead technical implementation and oversee system integration.Manage defect tracking, UAT execution, and operational transition.Stakeholder & Vendor EngagementCoordinate with internal teams, third-party vendors, and external stakeholders.Support procurement planning, vendor selection, and contract management.Compliance, Risk & QualityEnsure all projects comply with nuclear safety, security, and IT governance standards.Conduct risk assessments and maintain mitigation plans.Monitor quality control and ensure adherence to project specifications.Preferred Experience in Project Domains:Security Information and Event Management (SIEM)Enterprise Content Management (ECM)Custom-Developed Web Applications (User-Centered Design)Microsoft Azure Infrastructure, Networking & M365Core Competencies:Project Management & GovernancePlanning, Scoping, Budgeting & ForecastingEarned Value Management (CPI/SPI)Risk, Cost, and Time ManagementProcurement & Vendor ManagementQuality Assurance & UATStakeholder Engagement & CommunicationTeam Leadership & Resource ManagementTransition to Operational SustainmentQualifications:PMP or Prince2 Certification (Required)7+ years of relevant project management experienceDemonstrated continuous improvement mindset and delivery excellenceExperience in regulated, safety-sensitive environments (nuclear/energy preferred)Security Clearance Requirement:Candidates must be eligible for and able to obtain Reliability Status Clearance, which includes:Identity verification using valid government-issued photo IDEmployment and education history verification (minimum 5 years)Canadian Criminal Records Check via CPICProof of continuous Canadian residency for the last 5 years (or provision of international background check)Credit check (if required for role)Note: Sponsorship of Reliability Clearance is TBD – to be confirmed whether the client or vendor will initiate and manage the clearance process.
