Job description: Job Title: Piping and Welding PlannerJob DescriptionOur client in Medicine Hat, AB is looking for a Senior Piping and Welding Planner to support their upcoming turnaround. This position starts with a schedule of 4 days per week, 10 hours per day with the opportunity for overtime. During the turnaround, the schedule will transition to 6 days on, 1 day off with days being 10-12 hours. The initial contract extends until the end of May, with the possibility of extension. The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator, able to interact professionally with a variety of people on site effectively. Drug and alcohol screening is required.Responsibilities

• Interact with scheduling team, engineering, and trades to ensure completion of work packages in a timely manner.
• Ensure work packages are complete and ‘fit for purpose’.
• Obtain quotes from vendors for necessary parts.
• Work with vendors to get materials on site.

Essential Skills

• 10 years of field experience.
• 5 years of planning experience.
• Journeyman pipefitter or welder certification.
• Strong computer skills.
• Excellent communication skills with various personalities.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Turnaround experience.
• Experience with Maximo (preferred) or SAP.
• Understanding of found work process.
• Experience in oil and gas, chemical manufacturing, and plant maintenance.
• ERP experience.

Work EnvironmentThe work will be on-site at the plant just outside Medicine Hat. The initial schedule is 4 days per week, 10 hours per day, with the possibility of overtime. During the turnaround period, the schedule will change to 6 days on, 1 day off, with 10-12 hour workdays.
