The Specialist, Risk & Management Systems will project manage the Integrated Risk Ecosystem Program by managing the planning, scheduling activities and providing specialist technical knowledge in the design and development of appropriate systems, platforms, key packages of work and founding documentationAs part of our team you will

  • Manage the planning, scheduling, delivery and reporting of key project activities
  • Provides specialized technical knowledge and guidance on the development and design of appropriate risk management systems and processes
  • Identification and development of key existing packages of risk management work through the support of internal subject matter expertise
  • Provides advice, identification and development of key interactions and dependencies that will facilitate the application of risk management systems and processes
  • Builds upon the Specialist’s knowledge and background to identify current gaps and opportunities in the risk management framework
  • Keep abreast about new developments, technologies and findings in the local and global context of risk management
  • Co-ordinate and guide the work of other key project contributors

Prerequisites for success in this role

  • Applied/working knowledge of risk frameworks, management systems and associated concepts, methodologies and tools; and their application to operations.
  • Professional degree, preferably in Risk Management, Business Administration, or related fields preferred. Experience considered in lieu of degree.
  • Understanding of risk frameworks, management systems and associated concepts, methodologies and tools; and their application to operations.
  • Working knowledge of data management concepts, methodologies and tools.
  • Understanding of GRC and EHS software preferred.
  • Awareness of safety and sustainability (environment, social responsibility, health and safety) areas of management and associated risk and opportunity management, in the resources industry preferred.
  • Project management fundamentals
  • Primary skills include oversight of systems and processes for risk management activities aligned with internal management systems / risk management framework, including expectations around performance and governance.
  • Proficiency required in the application of systems, processes and activities that support verifications for external commitments, and in liaison with the wider management system.
  • The role also requires working knowledge, understanding and application of project management, including the ability to coordinate and facilitate groups of stakeholders to develop suitable alternative solutions to current systems and processes.
  • Carry out specific activities using appropriate tools and processes to achieve defined business outcomes.

  • The preferred location for this position is Newmont’s headquarters in Denver, CO but qualified candidates in proximity to any of our operations or regional offices are encouraged to apply.

The salary range is tied to the Colorado market for jobs performed in Colorado. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience. The salary offer will not be based on a candidate’s salary history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about salary history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.
