Job description: We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Operational Risk Specialist to join our Middle Office function. This role plays a critical part in identifying, evaluating, and mitigating operational risks across trading and support activities. The ideal candidate will work cross-functionally to enhance controls, minimize exposure, and support the development of a robust risk governance framework within a fast-paced trading environment.Key ResponsibilitiesEvaluate internal processes and systems to identify operational vulnerabilities and recommend preventative strategies.Work closely with trading, shipping, finance, and compliance teams to understand workflows and embed risk controls.Conduct assessments on operational incidents and near misses; implement actions to prevent recurrence.Lead periodic reviews of operational risk metrics and dashboards to spot irregularities and escalate issues as needed.Facilitate the annual operational risk self-assessment, ensuring accurate mapping of risk exposure across functions.Support the enhancement and maintenance of risk incident tracking tools and reporting platforms.Develop concise and actionable risk reports for management, outlining key trends, control gaps, and recommendations.Deliver training and awareness initiatives to promote a risk-conscious culture within the organization.Provide input on new business initiatives to ensure operational risk considerations are captured from inception.
