Oversees summer hoteling assignments, promotes and sells uOttawa facilities, and contributes to sales and marketing strategies to maximize service excellence, university reputation, and revenue generation from the sale of facility rentals and services.In this role, your responsibilities will include:Promote and sell uOttawa facilities (space rental, hoteling, sporting venues, etc.) to secure business from prospective & existing clients through e-mails, cold calls, site visits and inbound inquiries. Represent and participate in memberships for the institution in a professional, informed and consistent manner at both internal and external events, on a local and regional level.Contribute to an annual sales and marketing strategic plan for all target markets by finding leads to generate revenues for the sector.Responsible for all activities related to the administration, processing and contracts of clients. Analyze existing contact base within specific organizations. Negotiate contracts, ensure proper file transfer, perform various check points with agents and key personnel/suppliers to guarantee client contract is respected and follow up on payments.Attend and participate in trade shows, sales blitz, networking and other related events to gather new business and promote summer hoteling and other services such as catering and dining hall. Keep current on industry and sales market trends and updates team accordingly.Manage the summer period hoteling assignments for groups based on available inventory and client requirements, update reservations systems with details, communicate details between various departments (client services, dining hall, catering).Respond to requests for information, contracts and/or initial quotes in order to confirm contracts. When required, assist various teams during peak periods and act as a resource for other team members to maximize the operational process and maintain service levels.Maintain a client database and engage in long-term relationships with new and existing customers to grow and nurture business relations that ensure recurring business.Implement communication and business development strategies to engage with old and new audiences.What you will bring:Knowledge of business development, sales, marketing and account management principles normally acquired through post-secondary degree in a related discipline (sales, hotel management, tourism) or an equivalent combination of education and work experience in hotel and/or event industry.3 years of demonstrated experience in a similar role.Bilingualism- French and English (spoken and written).Experience using reservation system tools and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and Customer Relationship Management software)Ability to work effectively under pressure in a team environment where priorities change often.Experience organizing and prioritizing work in relation to tight deadlines.Strong analytical skills and experience in conducting market research, planning and reportingStrong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, enthusiastic, proactive, and motivated in following up with clients.Ability to be thorough, accurate, and have a high level of attention to detail.Superior communications skills, verbally and in writing. Ease at public speaking and ability to present in both official languages.Availability to work outside of normal business hours including evenings, nights and weekends.Availability to travel to attend trade shows and conferences.Key Competencies at uOttawa:
