Job description: The Solution Architect will serve as a technical leader, ensuring the integrity and consistency of technology solutions throughout their lifecycle. The role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to design, validate, and oversee the implementation of solutions aligned with business objectives and technical standards.This is an initial 6 month contract, extendable up to 24 months.Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with system integrator teams and development teams to architect and design technology solutions.
  • Leverage knowledge of Manitoba’s existing architectures to inform future design decisions and solutions.
  • Partner with system integrators, team leads, technical architects, and developers to validate solution designs that align with business goals and outcomes.
  • Review and validate technical requirements, ensuring a seamless transition from design to implementation.
  • Participate in the Explore and Realize phases of projects and remain involved in subsequent phases to verify the proper installation, configuration, documentation, and operation of solutions.
  • Perform additional architecture-related duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience:
  • A minimum of 8 years in technical IT roles within complex enterprise environments.
  • At least 3 years designing and developing solution architectures for n-tiered platform projects.
  • Technical Expertise:
  • Deep understanding of Information Architecture principles, data management, integration, and quality tools.
  • Proficiency with enterprise ETL tools and knowledge of Azure Architecture (e.g., NSG, Firewall, Monitoring, Subscriptions, Key Vault, Security Controls).
  • Familiarity with Enterprise Architecture frameworks such as TOGAF or Zachman.
  • Expertise in program-level security services, including pen testing, vulnerability assessments, and threat/risk evaluations.
  • Integration & Design:
  • Experience architecting solutions for complex multi-platform integrations, including SaaS and PaaS technologies.
  • Knowledge of process re-engineering, requirements gathering, and middleware management.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into simple, non-technical language for diverse audiences.
  • Strong adaptability to dynamic and evolving environments.
  • Excellent problem-solving, customer service, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in creating detailed documentation and professional presentations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Azure operationalization and security program integration.
  • Experience with large-scale transformational projects, including phased deployment and application decommissioning.
  • Knowledge of integration platforms such as SnapLogic or Azure Integration Services.
  • Understanding of SMS and SMTP services like Twilio or SendGrid.
  • Experience with enterprise business intelligence platforms such as Power BI.
  • Previous experience working in public sector environments.
