Job description: CID Gulf LLC is a joint venture company established by Mr. Najeeb Alkhonji (KHONJI ENGINEERING CONSULTANCY), a Member of Mohamed & Ahmed Alkhonji LLC (MAK), one of the leading technology-based products and services holding in Oman, and Conseil, Ingénierie et Développement (CID), a large Moroccan consultancy engineering firm, operating across the African Continent and the Middle East. The objective of the two partners is to build a Omani consultancy engineering business based on CID experience as a national company created exclusively to tackle the engineering challenges in Morocco and ALKHONJI’S reputation as a well-established Omani holding since 1920 enjoying a leadership position amongst the industries stakeholders and others. CID Gulf LLC is an independent multi-disciplinary engineering firm operating as a regional platform, part of CID International operations in GCC countries, with its head office based in Muscat.The RoleAbout the Role:We are seeking a high-caliber Urban Designer / Landscape Architect with proven experience in designing and delivering major public realm environments tied to world-class expositions, theme parks, festivals, and high-profile event spaces. This role will play a key leadership role in the design and coordination of a landmark Boulevard project forming part of a broader Special Economic Zone development in Oman.Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the conceptualization and design of a culturally resonant and technically sophisticated urban boulevard that will serve as the ceremonial and entertainment spine of a large-scale development.
• Coordinate the integration of landscape, public realm, event space, pedestrian flows, and visitor experience.
• Collaborate closely with architects, infrastructure engineers, transport planners, and thematic content designers.
• Interface directly with client stakeholders and governing authorities to ensure alignment with the strategic vision of a multi-phase, mixed-use waterfront event zone.
• Supervise and review deliverables across all project stages: Master Planning, Schematic Design, Detailed Design, and Tender Documentation.
• Incorporate climate-sensitive, sustainable, and experiential design principles, drawing on best practices from international expos and cultural districts.
• Coordinate and review inputs related to event programming, media displays, signage, shading, furniture, paving, planting, and other public realm infrastructure.
• Support technical integration with MEP, lighting, water features, and smart city infrastructure.

Ideal ProfileRequirements:

• Minimum 15 years of experience in urban or landscape design with a focus on large-scale public realm or special event infrastructure.
• Significant portfolio entries demonstrating lead roles on Expos, World Fairs, Theme Parks, Festival Zones, or major Destination Waterfronts.
• Strong background in urban placemaking, crowd dynamics, nighttime economy, and flexible event infrastructure.
• Fluency with international design codes and practices; Middle East experience preferred.
• Exceptional skills in design leadership, concept visualization, and presentation to clients.
• Familiarity with multidisciplinary coordination in BIM environments and with international design teams.
• Degree in Urban Design, Landscape Architecture, or Architecture; post-graduate specialisation is a plus.
