Job description: The University of South Carolina’s Division of Information Technology is seeking aSenior Tableau Developerto join our dynamic analytics team.This role will be critical in advancing the University’s analytics platform,Carolina Analytics, which is powered by Tableau Server. As a Senior Tableau Developer, you will work closely with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, business analysts, and IT professionals, to deliver high-quality, data-driven insights that support decision-making at all levels of the University.This position is on-site in Columbia, SC.

Requires a bachelor’s degree in a job related field and 2 or more years of job related experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job related certification, training, education, and/or experience.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Tableau development, including experience with Tableau Server and Tableau Desktop.
• Proven experience in creating complex and dynamic Tableau dashboards that drive strategic insights.
• StrongSQLskills with experience in querying large datasets.
• Familiarity with data integration,ETLprocesses, and data warehousing concepts.
• Experience in optimizing Tableau Server performance and maintaining user security protocols.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and lead projects, as well as collaborate within a team.
• Tableau Certification (Tableau Desktop Certified Professional or Tableau Server Certified Associate).
• Experience in higher education or public sector analytics.
• Knowledge of other analytics tools and programming languages such as Python, R, or Power BI.
• Experience with enterprise data platforms and cloud-based analytics solutions.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• Proficiency in Tableau Desktop, Tableau Server, and Tableau Prep.
• Expertise inSQLand relational databases (e.g.,SQLServer, Oracle, PostgreSQL).
• Knowledge of scripting languages like Python or R is a plus.
• Familiarity with APIs and data connectors for Tableau integration.
