Job description: A leading global organization in the medical technology sector is seeking a Senior Strategic Sourcing Specialist to join its dynamic team in Galway. This is an exciting opportunity for a sourcing professional to contribute to high-impact procurement strategies that support innovation and operational excellence on a global scale.About the Role This hybrid position is based at the company’s largest manufacturing site in the EMEA region. As a Senior Sourcing Specialist, you will play a central role in developing and executing strategic sourcing initiatives across SG&A categories. You’ll work closely with cross-functional stakeholders, suppliers, and sourcing professionals across the EMEA and global teams. The position reports directly to the EMEA Corporate Services Sourcing Manager. This is a unique chance to shape sourcing strategies, drive supplier optimization, manage key contracts, and serve as a critical gatekeeper for the Procure-to-Pay (PtP) process.Key Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic sourcing projects across various indirect spend categories, particularly SG&A.
  • Analyze data to identify cost-saving opportunities and negotiate optimal terms with suppliers.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align sourcing initiatives with business goals.
  • Drive continuous improvement and compliance in supplier management.
  • Manage strategic supplier contracts and contribute to the development of category strategies.
  • Support the end-to-end procurement process, ensuring efficient and effective execution.

Ideal Candidate

  • Bachelor’s degree with at least 4 years of experience in strategic sourcing within a multi-divisional, multinational organization.
  • Proven track record in cost reduction, contract negotiation, and supplier relationship management.
  • Strong understanding of the Procure-to-Pay (PtP) process.
  • Experience working across global teams and managing a diverse set of stakeholders.
  • Professional certification in procurement or supply chain (CIPS, CPSM) is a plus.
  • Additional language skills are an advantage.

Skills & Experience

  • Strategic sourcing in indirect categories, including SG&A.
  • Data analysis and proficiency with procurement tools/systems.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Project management experience in a global business environment.
  • Ability to build credibility as a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders.
