This is an opportunity for you to play a vital role in rail safety at NZTA Waka Kotahi (NZTA) by monitoring and assessing rail participants, to ensure they meet regulatory and legal requirements.This is a proactive role where you will work closely with your portfolio of rail licence holders to provide compliance support and advice, carry out risk-based assessments (audits) to monitor rail participants as well as exercising statutory powers when required.We are looking for someone who has a strong background in regulation and/or rail and is passionate about safety. You will enjoy building effective working relationships with colleagues and regulated parties alike and be able to share your expertise to achieve positive safety outcomes.This role requires regular travel throughout New Zealand.View the position description .We are seeking to appoint at a salary between $108,324 -$144,134 commensurate to skills and experience.Ko koe tēnei | About youTo be successful in this role, you will bring:Regulatory experience and knowledge in transport or related industryProven experience in assessment (audit) planning, delivery and reportingAbility to interpret legislation and put it into practiceExcellent communication and relationship management skills, with the ability to build rapport easilyInvestigative, risk assurance or lead audit experienceExperience and ability to manage and identify safety risksExperience in the Rail industry is desirable for this roleYou will demonstrate knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an understanding of Te Ao Māori and promote tikanga and Te Reo Māori.
