Tēnei tūranga – About the Role:The Our Future Services programme will deliver a more cost-effective immigration system that is more productive, more effective at managing immigration risk, and provides a better experience for our customers and staff.The programme will be delivered through multiple workstreams working in parallel, with each workstream implementing key initiatives with set milestone dates.You will be part of the Partnerships & Programmes Branch within Corporate and Digital Shared Services and will report to the Portfolio Delivery Manager – INZ Team 3. As a Senior Project Manager, you will be assigned to both the Legacy System Decommissioning and Enabling Foundations Workstreams. Your initial focus will be on the Risk Analytics Platform (RAP) operationalisation initiative and detailed planning and preparation of decommissioning activities as set out in the delivery plan.Ngā pukenga me ngā wheako e hiahiatia ana – Skills and Experience Required:

  • At least 8 years as a Project Manager managing complex, multi-vendor projects.
  • Experience in managing data analytics projects and a team consisting of highly technical staff such as Machine Learning Operations engineers and Data Architects would be ideal.
  • Relevant project management certifications e.g. PRINCE2, PMI, Agile.
  • Takes responsibility for ensuring all project deliverables are completed and outcomes delivered for assigned projects, within agreed tolerances for cost, quality and time – showing good judgement in decision making.
  • Experience building and leading large project teams successfully.
  • Awareness of change impacts resulting from your project outcomes and compliant with good operational readiness practice.
  • High degree of financial literacy and proven experience in managing significant project budgets
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to articulate key messages with story-telling skills to ensure messages are understood by senior stakeholders, executives and governance groups.
  • Ability to influence and develop effective working relationships with a wide stakeholder base, including gaining and maintaining credibility with senior leadership.
  • Ability to successfully manage and resolve conflicts between stakeholders.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Coaching and mentor skills and shows a commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Tertiary qualification, or degree, in related business discipline is highly desirable or extensive and comparable relevant experience.
  • The ability to gain and maintain a national security clearance as required.
