We really are a company that wants to make a positive difference.He whakamārama mō te tūranga mahi | About this roleThis is a fantastic role where you will be able to utilise your strong technical skills and have an impact on the future of Auckland’s infrastructure!Working in the Strategy and Planning team, you will be responsible for developing and providing technical support to Watercare’s current biosolids servicing options and future servicing pathways.Reporting to the Manager – Biosolids Planning, this role will have a primary focus on supporting the ongoing delivery of Watercare’s landfill on Puketutu Island as we work towards closing the facility in the mid-2030s and supporting the delivery of Watercare’s biosolids servicing project – determining the next biosolids servicing solution for the Mangere Wastewater Treatment Plant, and our wider portfolio of wastewater treatment plants.In this role, you will be Watercare’s expert on landfill applications and will support other biosolids servicing solutions considering current and potential future options for our portfolio of wastewater treatment plants. A key focus of this role is to develop cost effective resilience and sustainability of our biosolids servicing.Ngā pūkenga e rapu nei mātou | About youTo be successful in this role you will have a strong interest in sustainable solutions and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Your background will include:

• Degree qualified (likely civil, environmental, mechanical or process engineering).
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• 6 + years experience in planning, designing or operating wastewater treatment plants,landfills, or quarries.
• Strong project management capabilities.
• Preferably you have worked in either developing and delivering biosolids servicing solutions, or have exposure to environmental management regulatory frameworks.
