Pass it on.He angitūtanga | About the roleMost activities on public conservation land including interactions with protected wildlife, marine mammals, or marine reserves, require approval from DOC. Our Permissions Teams process these applications and help to ensure that activities occurring on public conservation land are undertaken in a manner that protects the values of the land and complies with the legislation.As a Senior Permissions Treaty Advisor you will provide advice to Permissions Advisors and decision makers to ensure we are giving effect to the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi. You will also contribute to the development of operational policy and best practice in relation to the Treaty of Waitangi; as well as identifying training needs and working to a consistent national approach to train and mentor staff.The work is varied with each application very different to the next. We receive applications from a wide range of individuals and business owners who have an interest in using DOC land or some type of interaction with protected wildlife; such as tourism operators, other government agencies, land developers and many others.A great aspect of this role is certainly the relationships you’ll get to build with various stakeholder groups and industries; and you’ll be joining a really strong, collaborative team who pride themselves on producing professional and high-quality outputs.Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience required
