Our focus is the sustainability of New Zealand’s wild fish stocks, aquaculture, and the wider aquatic environment, now and for future generations.We have an opportunity within our Governance and Performance team for someone to help our organisation continuously improve its performance.The purpose of the position is to enable FNZ to deliver on its governance responsibilities by leading business improvement projects; undertaking business analysis and reporting and providing insights, and advice, on branch performance; risk identification, emissions reporting; some financial analysis; the development of branch performance metrics, and supporting budgeting, expenditure, human resource and cost recovery processes.Responsibilities also include input into the development of our annual work programme and budget compliation.This work spans both business as usual and specific project based activity, with outputs including the development of advice papers setting out your findings, insights and recommendations.This is not a role that requires data mining from large datasets. You’ll be involved in gathering business information and some data from various areas, speaking with a variety of subject matter experts across Fisheries New Zealand, and working with the FNZ Leadership Team. You’ll use information to support and improve aspects of Fisheries New Zealand’s operations, including our statutory reporting obligations, business planning processes, risk management and annual budget preparation.
