Our focus is the sustainability of New Zealand’s wild fish stocks, aquaculture, and the wider aquatic environment, now and for future generations.We have an opportunity within our Governance and Performance team for someone to help our organisation continuously improve its performance.The purpose of this Senior Performance Analyst role is to deliver specific pieces of work, provide strong business & financial analysis and reporting including the development of advice papers setting out your findings, insights and recommendations on aspects of branch performance. You will also support the team’s Governance activities. This work spans both business as usual and specific project based activity. You’ll be involved in pulling together business information and data, speaking with a variety of subject matter experts across Fisheries New Zealand, and working with Fisheries New Zealand Leadership Team. You’ll use this information to support and improve aspects of Fisheries New Zealand’s operations, including our statutory reporting obligations, business planning processes, risk management and annual budget preparation. As such, this role requires significant analytical thinking skills and internal stakeholder engagement.To find out more about Fisheries New Zealand and what we do please click .Mōu – About YouBring your relevant tertiary qualification, analytical skills, and significant relevant work experience along with your attention to detail and your enjoyment of working in a fast moving, busy environment where no two days are the same. You do not need to have a Fisheries background. You may come from the private or public sector, or perhaps from within the fishing industry. You’ll have:

  • Experience in business planning, analysis and performance monitoring
  • Experience building productive relationships with stakeholders and senior leaders
  • Refined interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proven ability to collate and analyse detailed business and financial data and information, develop insights, and recommendations.
  • Significant experience preparing reports and other written communication for senior leaders
  • Ability to provide advice that supports robust decision-making processes
  • Skilled in the use of data visualisation techniques.
