The OrganisationOur client is an S&P/ASX 300 across the civil engineering space. They are on the lookout for a Senior Payroll Officer who will focus on managing and resolving overpayments as well as providing backup support for their monthly payroll team. This detail orientated role involves identifying and addressing overpayments and implementing preventive measures to prevent future occurrences. A focus on continuous improvement is essential, as is critical thinking and problem-solving skills. The ability to manage stakeholders effectively and maintain a strong customer focus ensuring that payroll services meet the needs of both the organisation and its employees.Responsibilities

  • Review and audit payroll data to identify and resolve overpayments.
  • Ensure all employees receive appropriate entitlements in line with their Award, EBA and employment contract.
  • Collaborate with People & Experience and Finance teams to rectify overpayment issues and prevent futureoccurrences.
  • Provide clear and empathetic communication with employees regarding overpayment adjustments.
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance payroll accuracy and compliance.
  • Maintain detailed records of overpayments and resolutions for auditing purposes.
  • Preparing reports and analysis to senior leadership teams
  • Provide support to a monthly payroll in a back-up capacity.
  • Provide Support to Payroll Helpdesk as required.

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years of payroll experience in a high-volume environment.
  • Deep understanding of Australian payroll legislation, PAYG, Payroll Tax, and Superannuation.
  • Proficiency with a large ERP payroll system
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and analytical capabilities.
  • Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a collaborative mindset.
