CommBank’s Financial Crime Operations (FCO) Strategy and Performance (S&P) team is looking for a Senior Manager to join our FCO Quality Control (QC) portfolio, responsible for improving quality across all facets of FCO via understanding insights and helping form up quality improvement initiatives.Financial Crime Operations (FCO) is a team of 2000 Operations Professionals and leads the Group’s approach to managing Anti-Money Laundering, Counter Terrorism Financing (AML/CTF) and Sanctions risks and obligations through the provision of operational services across the Customer Lifecycle. The Scope of work includes Onboarding and KYC, Enhanced Customer Due Diligence (ECDD), Ongoing Due Diligence including Transaction Monitoring (TM), Customer and Payment Screening and periodic KYC Refresh.The Strategy & Performance function is an enablement function supporting Financial Crime Operations to meet the performance and quality objectives set by the Group. S&P work in partnership with the FCO operational teams to set the strategic direction, define performance targets and operating model as well as provide core enablement functions including; governance, workforce optimisation, performance insights, strategic initiatives, change management, capability, communications, etc.The Role.
As the Senior Manager FCO Quality Control Insights and Reporting you will form part of the Quality Control leadership team. Leading a small team, you will be responsible for unlocking insights relating to FCO quality, working with stakeholders to prioritise quality improvement initiatives, tracking status to ensuring initiatives are delivered in a timely manner. You will also be responsible for quality reporting to various forums including external regulators where required.The Responsibilities:
- Leading a small team you will be responsible for tracking activity across the QC portfolio to ensure obligations under the QC Framework are met (Pillars 1-4)
- Analysing QC, QA and operational data to unlock insights and delivering these into the FCO operational teams
- Work across QC and broader FCO to identifying potential quality improvement ideas, establishing and maintaining a backlog of ideas
- Working with stakeholders to establish quarterly priorities and initiatives prioritised for execution and reporting on the status of these in regular forums, escalating any risks.
- Working with other members of QC to identify thematic review opportunities (Pillars 3 & 4), planning the execution and harvesting insights to be fed back into the operational teams
- Facilitating the strategy and planning for the QC function, identifying future resourcing needs and future improvement opportunities within QC – e.g. working with Sirius to get QC on system, identifying and scaling best practice tools.
- Fostering a continuous improvement mentality not just on the FCO operational teams but also in QC – identifying ways utilise the skilled QPS to drive maximum value for FCO.
We’re interested in Hearing from people who have:
- Deep knowledge of financial crime obligations and the way in which FCO meets these obligations
- Strong understanding of the financial services regulatory environment
- Good data and analysis skillset to be able to unlock insight from data
- Track record of driving positive change in operational teams
- Developing reporting for senior stakeholders including external regulators
- Proven track record managing risk and controls
- Excellent decision making and ability to think critically and communicate and influence effectively.
- Strong investigative skills and mindset
