  • Major Client Group (large corporates)
  • Corporate Banking (metro business customers)
  • Regional and Agribusiness (rural/agricultural businesses)
  • Small Business Banking (local small businesses); as well as
  • Equities and Margin Lending (such as CommSec).

Business Bank Finance consists of about 80 finance professionals who provide financial performance and analysis services for effective decision-making in the Business Bank division.See yourself in our teamThe Business Bank Finance Centre team handles executive reporting to the CEO, CFO, and Business Bank (BB) Leadership Team. They collaborate with BB Strategy on financial analysis, analyst presentations, competitor reviews, and ad hoc projects.The team consists of four groups:

  • Performance Reporting & Forecasting
  • Expenses & Capital
  • Decision Support & PACE
  • Risk

You will work within the Centre finance team to provide high-quality analytical support and detailed forecasts to Business Bank leaders. The primary objective is to deliver forecasts and insights to support senior leadership decision-making, contribute to financial modelling, and improve finance-related processes. Additionally, you will lead and manage a team, set goals, communicate effectively, monitor performance, foster collaboration, and support professional development.We’re interested in hearing from people who will aspire to

  • Coordinate and deliver annual, quarterly, and monthly forecasts.
  • Conduct financial modelling and analysis to guide optimal business decisions.
  • Identify and implement improvements for forecasting processes and models.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports and packs to communicate forecast updates to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with various finance and business stakeholders to provide driver-based analysis on the impacts of changes in financial results and forecast assumptions.
  • Conduct periodic and ad hoc forecasting using insights and financial analytics for the BB business unit and centre finance team.
  • Participate in supporting and/or leading strategic initiatives within BB Finance.
  • Develop advanced analytical skills utilising the Group’s data assets to understand and promote business growth.
  • Compliance with group wide policies and delivery protocols.
  • Collaborating with numerous stakeholders including other Business Units (RBS, IB&M, BW) and Group Finance to achieve desired outcomes.

  • Strong commercial, financial and/or management accounting skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills that makes the complex easy, and aligns financial outcomes to business narrative.
  • Proven track record of understanding industry trends and translating and linking to business outcomes.
  • The ability of bring colleagues on the journey and hold them accountable in delivering on time and to a high standard.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • The ability to build positive working relationships with senior stakeholders across the Business and Finance.
  • The ability to work and prioritise in a dynamic, changing environment.
