Who We Are Looking ForWe are seeking an experienced leader with a passion for shaping a safer, healthier and more sustainable Sutherland Shire. The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Relevant academic qualifications in environmental health, building regulation, urban planning, law, or a related discipline.
  • Proven leadership experience in guiding and developing high-performing, multidisciplinary teams, fostering motivation, mentorship, and continuous growth.
  • Expertise in managing complex regulatory environments, with the resilience and confidence to navigate challenges and make clear decisions under pressure.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret legislation and regulations quickly and accurately to inform decision-making.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with experience in building effective relationships across diverse stakeholders and handling politically sensitive issues.
  • Solid financial management skills, with experience in budgeting, resource allocation, and providing accurate reporting to drive strategic decisions.
  • Experience in senior leadership roles within Local Government or a similar regulatory environment would be advantageous.
